Shu Xiaoyi is an experienced and enthusiastic neurophysiotherapist. After Shu completed a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and a diploma in Acupuncture in 2005, she decided to pursue her career in Physiotherapy. She undertook a Master degree in Rehabilitation Science at Glasgow Caledonian University. Shu became a qualified physiotherapist in 2009.
Shu completed extensive rotations across acute and intermediate care and community settings. The areas covered respiratory, musculoskeletal, elderly care, orthopaedic, and neurology. During the rotations, she developed special interest in neurological rehabilitation.
In addition to wide clinical experience, Shu invested in neuro-specific training to advance her practice in neurophysiotherapy, for example, Bobath basic and advance courses.
Shu is keen to establish academic framework to further improve clinical reasoning and treatment skills. So she has started a Master degree of 'Advanced Neurophysiotherapy' at University College of London. Modules, such as 'Motor Control and Pathophysiology in Neurological Conditions ', have equipped her with most up-to-date evidence for clinical practice.
